Respite & Companion Care — Supporting the path to a good death

We believe a good death is one in which no one has to die alone. It means having the opportunity to be surrounded by the familiar things of home and the people you love—family, friends, and clergy. It is having time to share memories, offer forgiveness, give final advice, speak words of love, and say the things that should not be left unsaid. It is being treated with dignity and tenderness and having someone nearby to offer companionship, comfort, prayer, and reassurance. The comfort of knowing that death is not the end, but a homecoming, secure in the promise of Heaven in the everlasting love, mercy, and grace of our Lord God.

Our goal is to support individuals and families in our community through the final season of life  however long that might be, by helping make a good death possible while providing much-needed respite for family caregivers. Generally, our pricing is $20 per hour. However, if you need assistance and cannot afford it, please contact us. Sometimes we have sponsorships or funding that enable us to provide our services free of charge. Its worth asking.

We also recognize that caring for someone you love can be physically and emotionally exhausting. Family caregivers need opportunities to rest, run errands, attend appointments, spend time with other family members, or simply have a few hours for themselves. During that time, we will remain with your loved one, providing compassionate companionship and meaningful engagement according to their wishes, interests, abilities, and comfort.

End-of-Life Presence — When the final hours come, provide a calm and compassionate presence so that your loved one has someone nearby while family members rest, gather, pray, or simply need additional support.

Sometimes we will spend an afternoon preserving a lifetime of memories. Sometimes we will read Scripture or listen to a favorite song. And sometimes there will be nothing that needs to be said or done at all—we will simply sit beside your loved one and make sure they are not alone.

Our respite care is distinguished by our heartfelt commitment. We are not just caregivers; we are companions dedicated to preserving dignity and fostering meaningful connections in the final season of life, providing genuine support for both individuals and their families.
