Cherub — I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Georgetown, Texas. In the Bible, cherubim were placed at the gates of the Garden of Eden to guard the Tree of Life, making the cherub a powerful symbol of guardianship, paradise, and eternal life.
Victorian cemeteries have a distinctive look and atmosphere, ornate monuments, carved symbols, angels, obelisks, flowers, and winding paths. They were designed not simply as places to bury the dead, but as landscapes of memory, mourning, faith, and beauty as seen in this Kentucky cemetery.
Weeping Angel — Belton Cemetery. The weeping angel represents profound grief and mourning—a sorrow carried even into eternity—while the angel itself points toward heaven and the hope of everlasting life.
